I have found and have in my cart the pieces/parts for repairs to my doors, with the exception of the tapered spring. I see the spring as an assembly and i do not want to buy that just to get the spring. I have in my cart a straight spring, which i think will work? Am I correct this spring "May" work.

I'm honestly not sure, I don't know what you have in your cart. That's not something I can see. Can you give me the product codes? That will give me a better idea of what you have and whether they will work.
