1972 vintage wooden sliding glass door rollers

Quick Learner from Mercer wisconsin

I have been told that it will cost around $800 to make my sliding glass door work again. -in other words a total rebuild. If I take out the old roller, I don't know where to go for a replacement and can't leave the door off for long. I'm in the north woods with bears and bugs. This is a very heavy old door and the replacement might not be easy to find.

Hello,

We may have a replacement roller for your sliding glass door, but we would need a picture of it removed from the door in order to make a recommendation. Take a look at the video below for directions on how to remove and reinstall the roller. It can be a daunting process, but is the most inexpensive way to repair your door.

I'd also recommend cleaning your track of any debris while your door is removed.
