1983 Anderson double hung
We sell quite a few different Andersen sash balances. These are all rectangular gray boxes that install in the upper corners of the window frame. Is that the same style you're working with now?
If so, we will need to know the stamp printed on the balance box itself in order to determine the best replacement. That is how Andersen designed these to be identified. The problem is that there are quite a few numbers printed on the box, and not all of them are relevant. The important stamp also changes location depending on how old the window itself is. In this case, considering it was made in 1983, I think it's best if you show us a clear photo of each stamp printed on the balance casing. That way we can just pick out the right one without having to guess.
Please let me know if that's possible and we can tell you which one of our more modern products can work in your window.
