1992 viking windows

Question

The metal part of my balance is 29 inches long but it looks to be stamped 2830? I can't tell if the end pieces are broke or not. This is just the first window, I will end up rebuilding every window in my house. Also I would like to have a stronger balance. Thank you, Randall

Hello, Randall. Your balance resembles our S395-29 channel balance for non-tilt windows. Your spring strength option 2830 is for a 16 to 23 LB sash. You can weigh your sash and use the Stamp option/Sash weight range chart pictured beneath your balance to see if 2830 is the correct spring strength for you. We don't recommend using a spring that is rated for a sash that is heavier than what you actually have. We'll need some dimensions in order to identify your top sash guide.
