1995 Pella glass entry door - broken lock mechanism

Quick Learner from Michigan
I have a 1995 Pella full glass exterior door and it requires a new latching mechanism. The people at Pella called it a gear box because when you rotate the door handle the mechanism moves one rod up and one rod down to latch the door at top and bottom as well as activating a traditional door latch. The sliding rods work fine it is the latch/gear box assembly that does not work properly. The part I am looking for slides into the edge of the door and is shown in picture 286 and 287.

Your best bet is a Pella authorized dealer [lumber yard], I am replacing a 2003 gear box, about a $100 with shipping. NB both yours and mine is the "old Style" the new style has no notch at the top. You will need to have your carpenter dado out the door to receive the newer model.
