The insulation strip on the outer bottom of the capital windows needs to be replaced and have been trying to locate the part. My windows were install 2000-2001 timeframe. Any help would be appreciated.

We'd be glad to help! Can you pull out a bit of the strip and show us the butt end/cross-section? The angle I'm looking for is the one below.

Thanks for posting! Based on your photo, I believe you have either our 58-182, 58-183, or 58-171. It will come down to your dimensions. Carefully look over each product I've recommended and let me know what you think.

Great, glad to hear it! You can order these directly from our site, if you wish. Thank you for considering us.

As for installation, it looks like you have a welded vinyl window sash on closer inspection. To remove and slide in a new weather strip, you'll need to open one end of the channel where it goes. Many service people use a utility knife to do so, but just be careful. I recommend placing the knife under top lip and slide it towards the outside, then repeat on the bottom lip. Then slide out the old weatherstrip and slide in the new. To lock it in, you can put a little dent in the lip.
