2006 Pivot Bar

A quick learner from Coram NY says:
My sticker on the window says that they were installed in 2006. I believe the part I'm looking for is a pivot bar. The ones I see on here have a circle by the end. Mine doesn't. Please let me know if you carry that part. Thank Eva

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hello, Eva! You are correct, this part is called a pivot bar. What you have here is actually an old Simonton-brand part. They discontinued this a few years ago and stopped making it entirely, but they replaced it with our 26-336.

Now, the actual efficacy of the 26-336 is a little up in the air. I've had some customers tell me that it worked perfectly fine as-is, but other customers told me that it wasn't an exact fit in their pivot shoe and some modifications had to be made, usually grinding down the rounded end on the tip.

I can't really say if it will work for you or not. I would wager that the difference in customer opinion comes down to window age; some customers probably had older windows and therefore had more issues. But that's just a guess. Either way, the 26-336 is the only replacement option available to you since Simonton got rid of the original in totality. It is your best bet at this point.
