23-026 removal and installation

A quick learner from Palm City, Florida says:
I am having to replace the bottom sliding door glide, acme 23-026. I have ordered the correct part, but now am having trouble getting the old one off the door. Do you have any suggestions?

These can be tricky to remove, but there isn't any trick to it. You just have to remove the door and place it on a flat, stable surface. Then, get a firm grip of the old roller housing with a pair of needle nose pliers and do your best to work it out.

It's going to be stuck in there, but with persistence and a little elbow grease it should come loose.
