There are two things going on here. First, we have to look at the attachments to choose a balance Series. That's just a fancy name for the different combinations of attachments. Then, we look at the "23 5 GS" code for clues about the length and strength of the balance.

1. The attachments point to Series 380 or Series 385, depending on the depth of the shoe. The photo below shows how to measure. The 1" shoe belongs to Series 380, and the 1-3/32" shoe (which is close to 1-1/16" sometimes) belongs to Series 385.

2. The 23 5 code suggests a 24" length, meaning you'd have S385-24 or S380-24. Verify by measuring the metal channel by itself. No attachments included in the length.

Finally, "23 5" also functions as a weight code. We replaced it with "option 2350." You'll find that when you go to order on our site.
