Greetings. This looks possibly like an S350-25 Channel Balance. Please compare the specifications to confirm. I am afraid balances aren't really assessed by the size of the spring. The stamp code indicates the exact weight range they are designed to support. Did the balances originally in this window use a stamp of 24-5 or 2450, indicating they support a sash in the weight range of 24 through 27 pounds? If so, did the customer have trouble moving the window up and down before the balances broke? If not, and if 24-5 (or 2450) was the original stamp, then there's no good reason to change it to something stronger. The window will be difficult to close or keep closed if you do, and the balances will fail quickly. If you're uncertain about all this, obtain the exact weight of the window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option under the S350-25 product description.
