Hello,
I have already identified the window balance I need is (24" Series 390 Channel Balance). However, the stamp on my old window balance is 2390, the highest on your website is 2340. What does this number mean? would it be ok if I replace it with a 2340? Please advice so I can place an order from your website.
Thanks,
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
Please, remove the window sash and place it on a scale. The weight of the window sash in pounds is needed to determine the proper stamp option.
The S390-24 with stamp option...
2310 will carry a window sash weight range of 5 through 9 pounds
2320 will carry 9 through 15 pounds
2330 will carry 15 through 18 pounds
2340 will carry 18 through 22 pounds
This information is based on two non-tilt channel balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.

You will need a stronger balance; A S390-24 with stamp option 2350 will carry a window sash weight range of 24 through 27 pounds. We have added the new option online for you.
