Hi,
I need your help to identify a windows balance spring.
please forgive me being a layman here. I see it is a tilt window. built on 2001.
length of the part is 24inch.
the photos are attached. the end with plastic is the bottom of the part. this is defective for upper part of the window.
Please review.

24C B.S.I. LM what does that mean?

Hi George. This looks like it might be a Series 775-24. Look it over and see if you agree. You'll need to measure the bottom attachment of an undamaged version of this balance to see what size shoe you need (1" or 1-1/4").

The stamp code of 24C refers to weight range the balance is calibrated to support; in this case, a window sash in the weight range of 17 through 22 lbs.

Finally, does your old balance screw in at the top to the window track? I assume it does, but check this to be sure. Many thanks.

Bob,I have to check it this thursday as I am out of town now.
the top does not need to be screwed in to the track. I recall yesterday I just took it out, very tight, but may just need to snap in.
I will update you.
thanks a lot Bob.
