26-235 with shorter forks?

The diagram for the forks on this part show their length as 7/16" long. The part I am trying to replace is identical to this one except the forks measure 5/8" long. Would you happen to have a similar part available with the shorter length forks? If not, do you think the longer ones would still work?

I'm afraid not. You may want to consider replacing your tilt system with a surface mounted tilt latch. Watch the video below to see how.
