26 4 EO Caldwell Channel Balance

A home owner from Olympia, Washington says:
It's difficult for me to tell the differences between the 380, 385, and 395 series balances based on your site's pictures. Maybe the attached pics will help you tell me what new balance I need. The metal shaft is 27" long. The plastic parts are additional. The shaft is also 1/2" by 9/16".

Thanks

Series 395? No way. You've got Series 380 or Series 385, for sure. 27 inches should be the proper length, based on your measurement and your stamped number. That makes it S380-27 or S385-27. Your stamp suggests that you need a 2640 stamp option, but you should weigh your sliding window sash to be sure. The pane and frame of the window should weigh between 19 and 26 pounds.

To tell which Series you need, measure like in the photo I'm attaching at the bottom of the post. If you get 1", choose Series 380. If you get 1-3/32", choose Series 385.
