Hi, I see from another customer's post that the 26-434 work well in wood sashes with compression title out jambs. Will they work for vinyl makes of wood sash styles as well? My window has no ID on it.

I'm actually not sure if you could use our 26-434. I have two thoughts. How deep does the glass go into the sash? You don't want to drill into the glass by accident. My other thought is regarding the clearance between the top and bottom sash at the check rail. Yours looks tight, but then again it might just be the weather stripping that makes it look like that. Can you confirm?

Dave, I have no idea how far the glass goes into the sash, but I was concerned about that as well. Is there a way to verify how far the glass goes into the sash that you are aware of? Again, we don't know the manufacturer of the glass, and are likely not to be able to find it out.
For clearance, I don't know. It is tight, but I assume that's the same for a wood sash as well, since they close onto each other, correct?
Do you have exact dimensions on the 26-434 for depth from front to back? That lip on the side is certainly part of my concern, as I'm not sure how deep your part is, vs. how deep my sash is. I can find out about the sash depth, but will need your measurements on the 26-434.
Thanks,

I pulled one of the 26-434 out of stock to get a better look at it. The offset on the locking part goes in toward the glass slightly over 3/8". Check to see if you have the depth at the back edge of the sash to the glass. The distance from the side edge of the lock to the mounting holes is 11/16", just over 5/8". You will need to check and see how far on the width the glass goes into the frame to see if the 11/16" distance will get you away from the edge of the glass. Also take note the mounting screws which come with the lock are 5/8" long. I hope this answers your question.
