Question

Hello - I need to replace the balancer equipment on a window. I think the replacement part should be a S385? I also do not know the weight needed, so short of weighing the window sash, I'm hoping you can confirm the model number for this replacement?

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380 or S385 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment.

The length of the metal channel excluding the nylon attachments should measure 27" long. Unfortuantely the original stamp is an older rating that does not directly translate to our options. You will need to weigh the sash and compare to the strength chart on the product page to choose the correct stamp option.
