"28 1/4 3" and "2840" Caldwell Balances

Hello. One may be newer than the other, but one is printed 28 1/4 3 Caldwell CM, the other is stamped 2840. I don't see any numbers on the plastic ends. Metal channels are 29" long, 5/8" tall, 1/2" wide. The plastic end on the bottom is exactly 1" thick. My scale says the window is 18 lbs.
