28 3 BSI VA balances

Hello, I have an old house with vinyl non-tilt windows that were installed around the year 2000. I have many windows of which the balances are either missing, bent, or the metal V clip has snapped. If I could get some assistance in identifying what series these BSI balances are, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for reaching out! The balances you have are an extend travel custom balance so these will need to be custom balance assemblies.

For the windows missing balances, in regard to the size, are they the same as the window you pulled these balances from? If so, that will make it easier to identify the balances needed for those windows.

Thank yoy for taking a look. The windows that are missing them are the same brand and used the same balances. One uses a 20" balance, while the others are also 28" balances. Does Swisco have the balance endcaps that match my balances?

Yes, we do have balances that we can supply you with to replace what you have, however, those balance attachments only allow us to identify the series balance needed for your window.

For the windows that have the missing balances, I'll need to know the exact weight of each of those sashes. This important to know to determine the weight range your balances will need to carry to support the weight of the sash.

You should also be aware the length of the metal channel for these balances are sold in 7/8" increments. So, for example, the balance marked with the 28 3, will be 28-7/8".
