My Window will not hold up and slams closed (Home Built in 1999). The cork-screw like balance is 28.5" long (white sleeve part) plus extended probably double that if you count the cork-screw part coming out of the sleeve. I'm guessing if the window doesn't stay open then both sides need to be replaced, right?!

Eric

Hi, Eric.
We believe you have a Series 600 tilt balance but we'll need you to tilt in and remove the bottom sash and show us the fitting the spiral balance is attached to. We'd also like you to re-measure the length of the plastic tube.

The color bearing would be inside the tip of the tube where the spiral comes out of. Looking at your 15-015 pivot shoe, you can use our S600-29. They don't make these types of balances on the half inch and to play it safe we recommend going with 29". We also pulled up helpful media guides on this page to further help you.
