28D - 29" balance

Question

I have a need for a couple of balancers for windows, none of which have any markings on them as to make and model. There is a stamp on the balancer that is 28D. It measures 29" in length for the steel 'bar'. The 'bar' also seems to be about 9/16" wide and deep(OD). Is the S385-29 a somewhat universal replacement I can use? The window weighs about 30lbs on my scale. Seems I'd need a 2850, is that correct?

No balance can be considered a universal replacement. It's important that you compare the nylon attachments installed on yours to the ones we show for the Series 385. If they are the same size and style, then it would be a good choice. If not, though, I would like to see pictures. With those in mind, I can try to find a better match for you.
