Question

Would like to replace both channels. Double hung windows are 25+ years old.  Can this be done. The part number on the channels is 28HDK. The inner channel is 61 inches the outer is 61 3/4 inches to allow rain runoff.

Thanks for posting! I am confident we have a replacement balance we can recommend for the type of balances you have here. However to confirm which one you'd need, I'll need to see a photo of your balances removed from the window to see the shoe connected to the bottom.

You'll need to double check the length of only the metal channel of the balance, which is more likely to be 29". I'll also need to know the exact weight of the sash you are looking to replace the balances for. I am unable to cross-reference the stamp you have and they can be particular at times, concerning the sash weight.
