I had one channel balance fail in a window that is ~5-6 years old. It has an inked designator on the spine that reads as follows:
29-9 LX CMC 11
It measures ~1/2" across the spine and is 30" long.
I would like to purchase 2 new channel balances but am confused as to which is the correct replacement.
Can you help?
Gary

Thank you for posting. Before I can recommend an applicable replacement balance, can you please tell me the weight of your sash?

To weigh your window sash, remove it from the window and place it on a scale. Any normal bathroom scale would do.

Thank you very much. Please take a look at our S385-30 channel balance with a 2940 stamp option. This can support a sash weight range of 23 through 28 lbs.
This information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
