A potential buyer for our home broke a balance. The shoe is 1"x1"x3/8"
Could you help me identify the parts needed to order?

Would it be possible to utilize the existing shoe with a replacement balance spring/cord unit? The cord seems to be just inserted/knotted into the shoe

It may be possible, but you will need to remove the shoe from our special balance in order to do so. At that point, you may as well use the new shoe first to see if it works.
You will also need to re-use the old double hook at the top. These are no longer made at all, so we aren't able to supply a match. I apologize for the inconvenience.
In the meantime, we have all the information we need to get started. Can you just tell me how many balances you need? Once I know that, I'll email you an order link and price quote for the requested quantity. Keep in mind that because this is a special order, we can only provide two at a minimum.
