3 11/16 " inside lock

A handy person from Georgetown, TX says:
latch sinks back into door when you try to close it. if I pull it out and shut door it will lock. Just not sure which part to order. Don't really want to pull it apart until I have a new part. Can't leave the door unlocked. If necessary though I will do it. Any help will be appreciated.

Try to adjust the keeper in the door jamb, especially making sure that it's at the correct height. Next, at the top of your mortise lock there should be a small slotted adjustment screw. This screw can move the hook in or out to help lock it into the keeper.
