30" balancer shoe question

A quick learner from The Villages, FL says:

Returning customer. Previously purchased items on order #823522. Was hoping part #15-005 would work on this window but it does not fit (left over from previous repairs). Number on the balancer 29-9 HF5 CMG 54. Channel balance shoe - winged is broken but 15-005 does not fit. Looks almost the same but no good. Can you identify what part I need for the channel balance shoe, winged? Regards; Ken

Is your photo showing two pictures of the old balance? If so, I see no reason why our 15-005 won't work for you. Can you go into more detail as to why this didn't fit? What exactly was the issue?

A quick learner from The Villages, FL says:

Issue - window did not ride in side tracks correctly (15 years old Florida sun). Removed the sash to find the wings very worn and warped on one side of the balancer (bottom). Went to my supply of 15-005 and tried to install. Would not slide on so I could pin it in place. Profile of the original channel balance shoe does not match exactly to new 15-005. First time I am fixing this particular window. Others in the house were smaller windows in width and had no problem fixing any of them. Photos were of the 2 balancers from same window.

So I switched the entire balancers to their opposite sides once I put back the original piece. Now the window slides real easy in their respective tracks (wear point on the wings was the trick). I have reinstalled the sash so I do not have access to the parts anymore. I am in Florida - need the A/C on. Will wait on another failure and then open the problem again if necessary.

Regards;

Ken
