31401 A. Not sure if the bar ones had a spring on it but it no longer reaches the latch on the window. Completely ineffective.

A quick learner from Stamford CT says:
Would you be able to assist me in finding a replacement. Should this be spring loaded so that it finds the latch in the window when you close the window. I can't find an identifier on the window itself.

Thanks for posting. This looks like our 38-091 and 38-091 Multi-Point Sash Locks. There should be no spring action with these locks; the end of the arm simply connects with the Tie Bar in the window. Let me know if you have further questions.
