How far back I should hold the edge of the 32-083 Corner Tack Glide from the front of the rail that supports the drawer front? Would 1/4

It just has to be back far enough so that it doesn't interfere with the closing of the drawer. You don't want the face of the drawer hitting the glide and prevent it from closing. Either 1/8" or 1/4" should be okay.
