32-012 Rear Drawer Track Socket

I have bought these as an alternative to my broken Merrilat cabinet sockets as a replacement and am having two issues. First, the socket is too long and I have to cut off about 3/4" to 1" of socket to get it to accept my rail. Secondly, when I cut it, it then breaks, as shown in the right hand picture. Any suggestions on how to get around this? I can't make the drawer rail any shorter, nor increase the depth of my cabinet to make this socket work, and therefore, feel like cutting it is the only option, but that obviously weakens the plastic. I have had this happen on three different drawers now, and am frustrated and out of ideas. I have even tried putting zip ties around the socket end to try and reinforce it, but that has not worked either. Any suggestions would be appreciated! TIA.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. With old Merrilat brackets, we've often found the 32-119 is a more able replacement. It of course comes down to the size of the gap that accepts the track. If that matches well, I don't think there should be other issues concerning the socket length. See below and compare to your old sockets. Let me know if this seems closer.
