3/8" diameter 28" length spiral balance, green tip or red?

Question

Could you please let me know if the spiral balancer for tilt window (3/8", 28" length) is available with the green tip? Is there a difference between the red and green tip for this balancer? It is for a dual pane window.

Thanks for posting! Based on your dimensions, it sounds like you might have our S900-28 spiral balance. Does that look about right? If so, then yes! It does come with a green tip. You can see that option listed on the S900-28 product page, right below the image.

Now, the green tip will allow your balances to support a window sash weight range of 14 through, and including, 26 pounds. However, the red tip will allow your balances to support 10 through, and including, 22 pounds. Which would be better for you?

Please keep in mind that the weight range information is based on 2 balances per sash. Balances are designed assuming friction in the jamb weather-strip will carry a portion of the sash weight. Suggested sash weights are approximate.
