Removable link arm on #39-005 jalousie operator?

Can the link arm be removed? My link arm is still attached, so I don't need a new one.

I suppose you could drill out the link arm on the 39-005, but it'd probably be easier to simply remove your old link arm and use the 39-005 as-is, assuming it's identical to what was installed before.
