39-025 not closing awning windows all the way

A handy person from Hawaii says:
I replaced the operator (39-025). While it works, it doesn't close the windows all the way. What can be done? The windows look like they have a closing latch that pulls in the windows to seal them at the very end. How do they work? Could they be the problem?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the 39-025. What I would do is remove the operator, then check to see if the window can open and close without the operator installed. It's possible there's a problem in the window side linkage. We've had a few instances where customers reported that the pivot rivet can cause issues, where the 39-025's arm causes the whole assembly to move to the left a bit, which can cause the rivet to hit the opening in the window frame. If that's indeed the problem you're having, you can file a section off so it can pass the frame and everything closes properly. If in doubt, send us pictures.
