Question

Does the plastic cover on a 39-375 style pop off the mechanism or does the mechanism have to be removed from the window? I am replacing with a 39-375 folding handle and cover kit from a conventional.

I'm not sure I understand your question fully. By mechanism, do you mean the operator itself? If so, you should be able to install the 39-375 without having to remove the operator at all. The cover and handle both just pop into place, or pop off to remove.
