CAN YOU TELL ME THE BACK SET AND DOOR THICKNESS FOR THE MORTISE LOCK MODEL 40-049 . THANKS JEFF

Sure! The backset on the 40-049 is 7/8". Usually, the thickness of doors that use this lock is 1". How does your lock and handle set match our 40-049? Compared to the dimensions we show, does yours differ in any way?

our door thickness is 1 3/4 the backset we need is 1 9/16 it was a papaiz lockset

Can I see a few pictures of your original handle set? That will cut right to the chase and show us what kind of hardware you need.
