40-058 door set

Question

My door has its mtg. holes at 1-3/4inch in from the door edge. Will your 40-058 door set inside latch dog project sufficiently to engage the catch on the door jamb? I don't want the catch to stick out from the jamb and snag people passing thru. I am referring to the latch and not the deadbolt. Thanks.

Thanks for writing in. Unfortunately there's a chance that the 40-058 inside latch will not align with the keeper. We used to carry a shim that could remedy this problem, but I'm afraid we've discontinued them. Consider buying a shim from a local hardware just in case you end up needing it.
