40-089 too tight in Pado lock

A home owner from Rockford, IL says:
Hi. I received and installed the lock, 40-089, but unfortunately it fit too tightly. I will put the lock in the original packaging and mail it back for a refund (minus shipping), however I'm wondering if you have had enough success with customers replacing their discontinued Pado locks to warrant a second purchase? This lock was my first attempt. Thanks so much.

Dave Sr. from SWISCO responded:
From what I recall, the old Pado key cylinder was more of a rectangular shape, while most modern key cylinders are oval shaped. You might need to replace the compete handle set with something like the 40-049.
