Looking at your photo, reminds me of a similar door handle I had on my front door. When it was time to replace it, I used our 40-058 handle. This may work for you as well. If not, take a look at our 40-177 which could also possibly work for you.

I have the same problem and the 40-145 latch would work, BUT the spindle holder is TOOsmall and can't be removed. I'd love that latch with a bigger opening (5/16) for my existing spindle. Do you have that? Can you remove the too small spindle holder?

As a matter of fact, we do! Our 40-150 has a 3/16" spindle insert by default, but its design to be removed to accommodate 5/16". The only catch is that it's a turn style latch, not push style like the 40-145. Other than that, it should be compatible with all the same hardware.
