The 40-194 has a back set of 7/8", while you say yours is 13/16". On the top down measurement where the square lever handle hole is 11/16", the same measurement on our 40-194 is closer to 2" down. I believe we had this problem before where the lever latch hole didn't line up with the existing handle and cover plate. From what I remember, the customer needed to install the complete 40-193 handle set. Would this fix your issue?
