I recently purchased the 58-127 white wool pile weatherstripping. I am installing the weatherstripping on the outside edge of the window frame which fits against the inside front edge of the window when the window is closed.
The 58-127 is the same size as the old weatherstripping, however when the window is closed and then opened, the weatherstripping gets pulled out of the slot in the window frame. There are no clips on the ends to hold it in. Should I try a slightly larger size or do you have another suggestion. The windows were manufactured by Mastic.
Sincerely,
Larry

Normally the ends of the sash are "crimped" to keep the weather stripping from sliding out. A larger size base might not fit into the groove. I would suggest to trying a few drops or dabs of an adhesive to set the wool pile in the sash groove. No more than that, though, or else you won't be able to replace it later on when it wears out. Try a local hardware store in your area and see what they suggest.
