70-009 screen plunger pin latches, 5/32

A quick learner from Guilford, ct says:
The plunger pin and spring fit fine. But how does the plastic cap snap onto the pin. The hole in the bottom of the cap is about .040 in diam. and the bottom of the pin is about .090-.100 in diameter. Is it possible that the "spline pocket edge" which I don't have on my screens has a way of containing the cap?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

The plastic cap does require a little elbow grease to pop onto the pin. If you haven't already, I recommend watching this old video on how we install it. As you can see, my pal Mike here uses a rubber mallet to gently--but firmly--pop the cap onto the pin.
