79-264 tech help

Question

Hi. Here are photos of 79-264 unit. The instructions refer to different part numbers. Do I have a model 640, 650, etc. I do not have the parallel arm bracket.

Also included is photo of the door.

Please provide advice. Do I need a different part or configuration?

Hello,

In our experience, you don't necessarily need the parallel arm bracket. The 79-264 commercial closer is made to be installed on the header of the door opening. However, with that being said, the 79-264 is normally used on exterior outswing commercial doors rather that interior wood doors like yours. I'm wondering if the 32-507 closer would have been a better choice for your application. Take a look and see what you think.
