#80-207 hook is hanging up

Question

Purchased a SWISCO Security Safety Lock 80-027. The J-hook doesn't slide smoothly in place no matter what we do or how we adjust it. IS THERE A SECRET TO THIS? My husband and I feel like the two stooges.

Hmm, I've never hard this problem before. It should be easy to narrow down the problem, though. First off, try to lift the J hook up and down without inserting it into the keeper beforehand. See if that has any hang ups. If it works okay, next try adjusting or reinstalling the keeper to make sure it lines up with the J hook. Perhaps that's all that's necessary.
