82-002 to replace CD347?

The CD347 sliding door latch broken. Can 82-002 be the replacement? Can the latch be installed on either side? Thanks.

The 82-002 does look similar, yes. I would just make sure the locking tooth is in the same position. It can be used on either side, yes.
