82-009A not un-locking properly

Question

I just bought Swisco's 82-009A (Order 801148). I also bought the keyed exterior pull (82-306)

The clam-shaped locking device is difficult to move all the way into the unlocked position; I have to pull the metal by hand to get it to clear the flange that holds it in place.
And the key is difficult to turn also.

Do I have a defective handle?

It sounds like the tail piece on the key cylinder could be a little too long. Fortunately, it can be trimmed down. Look at the video below for more insight.
