82-078 Key Cylinder?

Looking at the 82-078. Is it possible to put a keyed cylinder in the outside handle.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide the internal mortise lock or a compatible key lock for this handle set. We suspect that they are no longer available. We apologize for the inconvenience and please let us know if you have any other hardware questions.

OK ,I do not require the mortise lock itself. This 82-078 locks like a good replacement for the current handle , which does not lock. I see a protrusion on the outside handle which looks like it could accept a key cylinder. is there a knock out hole in that outside handle ? I have key cylinders that may work.

I did check one of the handle sets from our warehouse and it does not have any kind of punch out to accommodate a key lock. If you're handy, it may be possible to drill a hole and carefully file it to fit a lock but we do not recommend it since it can't be returned for a refund once modifications are made.
