Question

Hi,

My patio door hardware looks like your 82-080 except the 4 15/16 dimension is closer to 4 7/8". It is marked made in New Zealand. The problem is only the anti-slam feature is unreliable. Pushing the button in does not always enable the latch mechanism. Adjusting the screw does not help. It does not release even when pushing the button in by hand various amounts. Do I need a new double hook mortise lock 82-238?

Thanks for reaching out to us. It sounds like your mortise lock may need to be replaced. To check if the mortise lock is broken, try manually throwing the lock with a slotted screwdriver. If it doesn't budge, then you know it ought to be replaced.

Would it be possible for us to see photos of the existing mortise lock and handle set?
