Question

Can you tell me what mortise lock I need for the 82-086 legacy keyed handle? My current mortise lock is for a center key hole but the 82-086 is not a centered keyhole. So it doesn't line up.

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear of your trouble with the 82-086. This handle set works with a number of different mortise locks, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the position of the key lock. The way the holes in the door frame were drilled to accept the handle set is what matters. I suppose you could attempt to drill new holes to install the 82-086 in a way where the offset key lock position aligns with the keyway in the door properly, but this would be quite a mess, and in my opinion, you are better off just getting a handle set with a centered key lock.
