82-086 keyed lock

Question

I'm trying to install a 82-086 lock set on a patio door. The lock is a 33432 and there's not enough space in the slot for the latch and key spindles to pass through. Do I need a 82-218 mortise lock and are the spindles supposed to both pass through the slot. Thanks Mike

Hi Mike,

In most cases, the spindle of the 82-310 key lock that comes with the 82-086 handle set needs to be cut down to size since it comes long enough to accommodate most door thicknesses.
