Question

Hi,
I ordered and received this replacement latch kit. I was able to use it with the old stem. The new stem (key) was too long because this is a keyed door. Do you have a kit with a shorter stem? I'm not sure if the old stem will last.

Hey Bill. We don't sell a version of the 82-107 with a shorter tailpiece--what is usual protocol here is to actually cut the tailpiece or spindle of the key lock so that it is shorter. The key (pardon the pun) is to not cut the tailpiece on the key lock so short that it no longer interfaces with the mortise lock.
