Question

I am trying to install this lock and need assistance. Do I have to cut the part that I've circled in my photos, if so how do I cut it ?

It is too long and everything else on the door fits great.

Hello,

You are correct that you would need to cut down the length of the spindle of the 82-310 key lock that came with your handle set to match the length of your original key lock. The process is shown at timestamp 3:30 in the video below. Just keep in mind that you'll need to be careful not to cut it too short. If you're unsure, I would recommend cutting off a little bit at a time and testing it until it engages properly with the mortise lock. Thanks for posting!
