Is the 84-078 meant to install on the bottom, not on top?

My patio screen door has #84-078 rollers on the bottom and none on top.Is this possibly correct for older Anderson units?

Believe it or not, this is a strangely frequent issue. The 84-078 is strictly meant as a top roller and shouldn't ever be used on the bottom end of the door. The reason why yours is reversed is very likely the same story as we've seen before: the door was installed upside down. That should be the first thing you check. If you're lucky, flipping the door around is all you need to do to fix any issues you might be having with it.

Mine was upside down as well and had been that way I assume since it was built 20 years ago. Fixed it after reading this thread. Thanks!

I went ahead and switched the handle to the other side and flipped the door, and it doesn't squeak like it did before. Definitely an improvement. Thanks!

Awesome! Glad our advice was able to help you. This is such a bizarre problem but at least it's easy to straighten out.
